This Sunday March 10th, is Forgiveness Sundayin the Orthodox Church. After we gather for a Cheese Fare Lunch to mark the end of including dairy and eggs in our diet during Great Lent, we will go back into the church temple for Forgiveness Vespers. New Bishop of Miami and the Southeast – Bishop NICHOLAS

In light of the retirement of our beloved Bishop ANTOUN, His Eminence, Metropolitan JOSEPH has announced that the new bishop of the Diocese of Miami and the Southeast will be His Grace, Bishop NICHOLAS.  Bishop NICHOLAS served as a priest in our Diocese from 2005-2011 before being consecrated to the episcopacy.  He has been serving at the Archdiocese headquarters for the past seven years.  He is also a fellow student with Fr. Antiochian Women retreat with Mother Nektaria

The Antiochian Women of Miami and the Southeast held a spiritual retreat on Saturday, January 21st. The topic was “Worry” and was led by Mother Nektaria from St. Paul’s Skete in Grand Junction, TN. Four of our local Sisters of St. Photini were able to attend. They enjoyed Mother Nekataria’s observations on how to lessen worry in our lives, a quiet reflection time, a shared meal and getting to know the other approximately 50 women from our diocese. Theophany 2017

St. Andrew’s celebrates Theophany 2017.  A gathering of approximately 50 parishioners braved the January 8th temperatures to witness the Blessing of the Waters and Cross Dive. There were two categories of divers with one group of older and previous cross receivers and a second group of younger divers.  The blessings of the Cross were bestowed on Gabrille Bleam for the younger group and Marina Tampary for the older divers.  Everyone feasted on great burgers, hotdogs and brats; as … [Read more...]
